Yuta Takemoto, Takumi Mayama, and Shinobu Morita are friends that live in the same apartment complex and go to the same art college in Tokyo. They each had there strange lives and sometimes secreted lives but they are there for each other when it’s needed. One day, a young girl started going to the same school as them. Hagumi Hanamoto is the daughter of a cousin of Shuji Hanamoto, their art professor. She is small and quiet but has a wonderful way of creating art. Both Yuta and Shinobu fall in love with her and they each show it in a different why. On the other side of the love story, Takumi is also having problems with a couple women himself. The story fallows all the love triangles of growing up.

My Thoughts: Normally, these types of shows with a lot of twists and turns make me feel a little sick from all the drama they pick up. This one doesn’t really make me feel sick though it is a bit sad. I liked the comedy they had in the story, and it wasn’t too crazy or overworked like a lot of shows. It was just enough to break up the story line. Not sure why everything seemed to be focused around food but it seems almost everything is in the show. The last parts are really annoying, because they show both things that will happen in the show or what has happened. I have a hard time figuring out exactly who I’m supposed to look to for the relationships. I can’t actually pick just one even though Yuta kind of the main character. Another thing this show does is bring in the idea that everyone and every thing in this whole show is in love with the wrong person or someone that should be in love with them and isn’t. They even hint at yaoi relationships or maybe that is my own ideas going into this. Sometimes it’s hard to say with love shows like this.

The artwork is rather pretty, nice and gentle. There is a strange mist that seems to be part of the show all the time like its part of a dream. There are a lot of textures in the show, and each one seems to be placed at the right place. It looks like Usagi Drop a bit in its details. Now the comedy part changes the artwork a little but it never gets to bad. I’m really not sure about the strange food play that happens in the beginning though. It just feels strange. The ending seems different for almost every show.

The English voices mostly work well, although I’m not so sure of un-impressed by Hagumi’s voice. She seems way too childish even though she’s supposed to be 18. I don’t know any 18 year old, sheltered or unsheltered that actually acts like she does or sounds like she does. It makes me feel like she’s a Lolita and that the people there are pedophiles. I can’t help it, it just makes me feel that way.

Rating:
It’s actually very cute, and I love how the story is laid out.
